I agree with you. This concept goes beyond tea too. When people strive for one specific standard, creativity and uniqueness dies. Tea, food, art and even people should never strive to be the exact same, being unique is far more desirable.

I really love Jelly Juice Vampire; it's one of my most favorite raw Puerh teas; I like the vertical tasting you are doing of these teas in this video Don. Thnx. Of the series I also have Shimmer Bliss Roady; it seems a good idea to do a small tasting comparising; curious how Shimmer Bliss has aged. But I'm also very anxious in maybe trying Aroma Composer.

My Brewista Artisan Kettle’s base was burned due to a friend’s mistake, and all I need is a replacement part. However, Brewista refuses to provide either the part or a paid repair service, expecting me to throw away a perfectly working product. This isn’t a cheap item, and their lack of after-sales support is unacceptable. If you’re considering buying from Brewista, don’t. Stay away from this brand.

Hi glad I found your channel, I was looking for gunpowder tea although I don't think you've reviewed it.I will be purchasing some tea soon from you, however looking for some recommendations, I would like one reasonably priced if possible, from what I want out of it, something with a steady caffeine kick, before gym, but not an immediate crash, lots of the good stuff antioxidants, catechins, theanine, etc, maybe all green teas have the above, lastly nice taste, not asking much😂, hope to here from you soon.

After 2 years, as my cake is nearing its end, I'm rewatching the video. This was my go-to tea after a rough day, I always have this tea when I come home late from the airport. The tea's vibe is as dark as the liquor, perfect with some jazzy music.

Quick suggestion: I find my sencha tastes the best at around 60C, rather than the usual 70-80C recommended by most sellers. More unami, less bitter. Over time, this has evolved into what I call "half-gong fu brewing", with more leave and lower temperature than is typically recommended, and lasting 3 infusions rather than 1-2. Typically, I brew something like this 1st infusion: 1min 2nd infusion: 20 sec 3rd infusion: 2min

The energy rush I got from this tea was INSANE! Fortunately, it arrived just after the busy season at my job, so I made sure to have some in the morning on the busiest days, and boy did it pay off. It tasted delicious too. Marzipan and blackberry with a gentle grapefruit bitterness.

Unless you have a local vendor/tea shop, you WILL spend a lot for good quality grade powder. The problem with matcha, is that you're only getting less than 2oz of powder. I hardly splurge on Matcha and when I get decent branded stuff, I only make lattes. If you're a green tea enthusiast though, Japanese green teas are a world all their own!

I would not -take the brewista, beacause it fails in my subjective aestetic category simply due the cheap looking plastic very badly imitating real wood. Tea is for me about nice things - beautiful cups, interesting pots etc. And this would downgrade the whole experience.

The same comes to whisky aswell. The older (and "better") they are, the lighter and smoother they get. Young whiskies are always wild and untaimed, while older whiskies even with an abv of 60% and above, they can be smoother as water, even if this is your first sip of an alcoholic beverage for days or weeks. BUT: For the ones, who really look for strong, "thick" whisky, heavy aromas to make it easy, they are wrong looking here. The best whiskies usually tend to have an age of 8-20 years for my opinion and in my experience. What fascinated me aswell for example, was the fact, that no lowland whisky was quite liked by me. They are really light and don't have much taste at all, no matter what you do. At least not the Single Malts of the most known destilleries there. And then comes Douglas Laing (famous whisky blender) and creates the Epicurean. A blend of lowland whiskies. Which is the only one of his regional blends series, which is good in my opinion. Funnily it was the only region, where I tend to not buy any other whisky from. Because that whisky was intense in aroma and really well made, eventhough it had no age statement. Young whiskies tend to have a metallic taste and burning from the alcohol. But Scotch is such a good quality for itself, that many destilleries don't even add an age statement until the youngest part of that whisky is at least 10 or 12 years old. So usually those no age statements are bad (Johnnie Walker for example) shit, that only burn your taste buds away. But in that case (since the price of The Epicurean is really not high at all, even with such a name on it) it is aggressive but well rounded. So it's good quality of really special whiskies, which show power and aroma. Total untypically for that region, which makes it so great again. In case of whiskies, I also prefer to "be able to taste, what I spent my money for". Which means, I want power. Same goes for tea. Usually I don't want to put much work in, I want the tea to put work in me. I don't do that ceremony stuff or the eastern brewing, I often only do some cups or a whole pot to have something for my work on my studies. That's why I prefer mostly black tea (or in asian culture red tea, since black tea over there means PuErh). I usually don't like this "first flush sfgtfop1 flowery mild lush darjeeling", I prefer Breakfast, Ostfriesen, other mixtures, or something special like a second flush darjeeling muskatel for example. If I have that muskatel, which usually is a bit more of quality and pricy, since it's rare, then I tend to buy "better" ones aswell and taste them in just one or two small cups per session and really lay back and enjoy that tea. But that is rare. Usually, my tea is a tool for a purpose and shouldn't get the focus. Therefor in case of whiskies, I am similar. Mostly, I prefer (what the alcoholics of that scene call) "daily drinkers", such as for example Laphroaig 10, Lagavulin 8 and 16, Ballechin 10, The Epicurean, Edradour 10, Mortlach 16, Benriach 10 peated and unpeated, Tormore 14 and 16, Glengoyne 10, and, and, and. But for really special occasions, I sometimes do have something like a Big Peat Platinum Edition 26yo. I really take my time for that one for example, since it is very expensive aswell. But enjoying the simple ones can be fun sometimes aswell, since we are talking about Scotch here (whisky not whiskey, the e is a huge difference in quality). Sorry, I lost my focus multiple times, since I got interrupted by family, but I so don't want to check that again or even delete all now. Get the message, you want from that or skip reading my comment! :D

I'm from Belgium, London is kind of a stonethrow away from where I live, but it's a pain to buy from the UK. it's not the shipping that's holding me back. It's the duty costs - it's quite a lot for a product that should be duty free in my opinion for small personal use batches... - and the time it takes for it to get here. it's about 3 to 5 weeks waiting. tea from a shop anywhere in europe is max 5 days waiting. It's not that I mind waiting for a while, but it's the combined uncertainty of if it's going to get lost or not. Not something meileaf can do anything about, so I'm really not blaming them. It's because of brexit that it takes so much longer, my parcels are at the duty offices for quite a while, probably because they have to much work to get through. If I ever get in london, I will definitely go to the meileaf shop. (Ever since brexit I don't go that often to london anymore though, it's just annoying to have to pay for a passport that I would only use for britain, which I really don't want to visit that often to make it worth it; while the rest of europe is still so easy to travel to. I just can't be bothered. And I guess that was one of the purposes of brexit? to alienate themselves from others and pretend to be a nation on it's own again, like the 'good old' middle ages. *sorry... I'm slightly annoyed, normally I really try to not care about weird political and geo-political decisions, but brexit was just another level of weird that is difficult to grasp. :) )

If you're ever in Sweden, stay clear of the matcha latte from Espresso house. They premix matcha with some sort of sugar. I felt it was way to sweet so I asked from 3x matcha in it, but that just meant 3x sugar 🤢
